Eras plays beautiful, atmospheric music with a tinge of the melancholy. It’s kinda like a quiet winters day in your headphones. I had the opportunity to photograph them and hear some of their music from their upcoming ep. You can check them out at their myspace.
There’s a chance you haven’t yet heard of Subpop/Hardly Art’s newest artist, The Moondoggies. I’ll be honest, although they are a local Seattle band, I hadn’t heard of them before I got the call to photograph them for their album “Don’t Be A Stranger.” After listening to them almost non-stop the past two weeks, I am definitely a fan. A big one. You’ll instantly feel transported to some old, mountain town bar back in the day. Gabrielle (makeup/stylist) and I tag-teamed on this one (it’s starting to become an oft re-occurring theme.)
I took a stroll with my friend Drew through the graveyard by my house this Sunday. I walked through the “new” area and witnessed the gravesites of the recently departed. It was strangely calming and saddening, and a reminder of how fragile we really are.
On another, less dark note, I am really enjoying photographing with my Holga. It’s fun to experiment and is a different, less frustrating experience than shooting with my recently departed Yashica rangefinder.
